Rouxbe’s Cooking School

Last night I recieved a surprising email that made me want to blog immediately. It was from Steve Ellis, someone I’d met on FoodBuzz and spoke to here and there. I was so excited to get this email because it asked whether or not I might be interested in becoming an affiliate of Rouxbe’s Online Cooking School. Rouxbe’s (pronounced like ‘Ruby’) is dedicated to teaching through videos and quizzes all about cooking. There are videos for beginners (which I’ll be watching since I’m a beginner myself) and for more advanced cooks as well. The good thing about Rouxbe is that everything is so professional like a culinary school, but you can watch the videos and take the lessons on your own schedule–perfect for someone like me who is still in college and can’t spend as much time on the internet as she’d like. There are videos just about certain ingredients and how to use them effectively in your cooking. Just yesterday, I was watching the video on wheat and gluten. Even though I obviously cannot have these, it was so interesting to see why gluten is so vital in most people’s every day cooking. The video was engaging, easy to understand and very informative.
As an affiliate of Rouxbe’s Cooking School, I’m able to embed videos and pictures here to make the experiences with future recipes posted better. I have the power to give you a free, full-access, no-videos-barred, 14-day pass to their site. All you have to do is go to the Rouxbe Online Cooking School and redeem the 14-day Gift Membership. After the trial, you can join for as little as $15 per month; however, there is no obligation. So go take a look! In the meantime, I’ll post some links to introductory videos. I was going to post the videos themselves, but I had a bit of an issue trying to use the codes. As soon as I get that fixed, I’ll definitely post the videos directly on this post. I got the videos to work thanks to Steve Ellis! Here they are:
Here’s the one on wheat and gluten that I mentioned earlier. It’s really interesting so I’d definitely recommend watching it:
I hope you enjoy watching some of these videos and decide to sign up! I’ll be learning right alongside you, since, as you all know, I’m only just starting out. It’ll be fun, right?
I’ll see you there!
Miel

Sounds like a great opportunity. I don't have time watch now, but I'll come back and take a look.
